Appreciation post: The time my friend's Gloomhaven campaign ended because someone spilled a full glass of orange soda on the scenario book.

It was the final session of a 9-month campaign, and the debate is still raging: was it a tragic, fitting end to our shared story, or just a really dumb way for 120 hours of effort to go up in sticky, caffeinated flames?

Epic game over" is perfect, but here's the thing about that soda. It wasn't just ANY orange soda, it was like, a full 32 ounce gas station cup. So you've got this sticky flood soaking through EVERY page of the scenario book. Not just the current mission. The whole book. The whole campaign history. All that planning, all those secret objectives and side quests we never got to. Gone. Reduced to a pulpy, orange-scented mess. That's not just an epic game over, that's a legendary campaign grave marker.

What's more epic than a soda-based apocalypse?

Honestly, the sugar crash alone would end us.
