Did you know the original Monopoly had a different set of properties?

I was reading up on board game history last night and found out Charles Darrow's 1935 version didn't have Mediterranean or Baltic Avenues at all. Instead it had different streets that are all in Atlantic City but got swapped later for copyright reasons. Has anyone else dug into how much the classic games have changed from their first printings?

Ha yeah @spencer782 probly was cheaper rent back then but knowing how messed up inflation was during the depression era it probly still felt like a lot. I remember reading that the original game had properties like The Water Works and the Shore Fast Line instead of the rail roads which is wild cause those are way more specific to Atlantic City. Its crazy how much board games got tweaked just to avoid lawsuits or keep things fresh. I wonder if the old version had different colored money too or if that stayed the same.

Man rent's always been too damn high, I'd probably still be broke trying to afford a property on Boardwalk even in Depression-era money. My wallet would've been just as empty back then.
