Dropped $80 on a deluxe card shuffler that jammed after 10 games

I bought a fancy automatic card shuffler for our weekly game nights, thinking it would save time. It worked fine for about three rounds of Uno, then it chewed up two cards and completely stopped. Has anyone else had a board game accessory that just was not worth what you paid for it?

I read somewhere that fancy shufflers are really just overpriced paper jammers waiting to happen.

Yeah I used to think you were overpaying but that story changed my mind.

My buddy Mike from work dropped a hundred bucks on a battery-powered poker table that was supposed to shuffle chips and deal cards by itself. First time we used it, the chip tray got jammed after five minutes and the dealer arm just kept smacking the table. Ended up having to finish the night with a beat-up deck of Bicycle cards and a coffee mug for the pot. Last I heard that thing's been sitting in his garage for two years covered in dust and mail.
