Got schooled by a 12 year old on my own dice tower design
I was at a convention in Portland last weekend demoing my wooden dice tower. This kid walks up, rolls a few times, and says my internal baffle design was causing dice to bunch up on the left side. I thought he was just being a know it all but I tested it myself with 20 rolls and he was dead right. Had to totally rework the angles on the spot and it actually rolls way more evenly now. Anyone else ever had a random stranger point out an obvious flaw in your creation?

Wait, a 12 year old actually spotted that?

Not to be a downer, but is it really that impressive? A 12 year old spotted an obvious math mistake someone else made. Thats not exactly catching a spy or solving a cold case. Kids notice stuff adults overlook all the time because theyre not jaded yet. I bet if we looked hard enough, half the forum could spot a similar goof in five minutes. Its not that deep.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and noticed my dad's checkbook was off by exactly $47.62 three months in a row (turns out he was forgetting to write down a monthly subscription). He was so annoyed I was right that he made me double check all his math for the next year. So yeah, kids can be weirdly good at catching simple stuff, even if it's not spy-level impressive.
