I finally fell for a Kickstarter board game that was a total scam

I backed this game called 'Dungeon Delvers' back in 2021 for $75. The campaign had slick 3D renders and promised all these miniatures and stretch goals. Two years later, I got a box with about half the stuff missing and the rules were a mess of typos in a language I couldn't even read. The creator kept posting updates about supply chain issues, then just went silent. I tried to get a refund through Kickstarter, but they said backing is not shopping and I was out of luck. So I have this big dumb box taking up space and $75 down the drain. Has anyone else had luck getting money back from a failed board game project?

Oh man, that sucks so bad. I fell for something almost exactly like that called "Mythic Kingdoms" in 2020, paid like $90 for a miniatures game with all these cool painted models in the campaign video. When it finally showed up a year late, the box was literally half the size they promised and the minis were just plain gray plastic, no instructions at all, just a crumpled sheet of paper in really broken English. I tried to dispute it with my credit card company but they said it was too late since I backed it so long ago. Pretty much just got a pile of junk sitting on my shelf now too, so I feel your pain big time.

I thought my issue was bad but getting a game manual in some random language just feels almost insulting, like they didn't even try to hide it. Did you ever figure out what language it actually was or just toss the whole thing in a closet? Honestly I used to think people were just being dramatic about Kickstarter board games being a gamble, but after seeing stories like yours and the original post, I totally get it now. It's wild how these creators can just take your money, send you garbage, and then ghost everyone with no real consequences.
