Just realized I'm the only one at my game night who hates legacy campaigns

Honestly, we were three sessions into a big legacy game at my buddy's place in Tempe last month. Tbh, the moment came when we had to permanently tear up a card, and everyone else was super into it. Ngl, I just felt like we were wrecking a $70 game. I spoke up and said I'd rather just play something we can reset, but they voted to keep going. Has anyone else felt pressured to play a style they don't enjoy just because the group loves it?

Yeah, that feeling of watching a group get excited about something that just makes you cringe is so real. I see it all the time, not just with games, but with things like group trips or even how people decorate a shared space. There's this push to go along with the shared moment, and speaking up can make you feel like you're the one spoiling the fun, even when you're just being honest about your own comfort zone. It's tough when your idea of value, like keeping a game intact, clashes with the group's idea of a good time. Makes you wonder how often we all just quietly go along with things to keep the peace.

Ripping up cards feels like a crime.

What's worse, watching them tear up a card or the look on your face when you do it? I made a noise like a stepped-on dog toy last time, and now it's a running joke. I guess my wallet is just too attached to the games.
