Just saw that Monopoly has been around for 90 years and it blew my mind
I was digging through some old game stats online and realized Monopoly first hit shelves in 1935, which is WAY older than I thought. Has anyone else found a random fact about a classic game that surprised them?

Wait, is Monopoly really only 90? Feels like it’s been around forever. Yeah, 1935 is crazy old but I always assumed it was older, like late 1800s old. The weirdest fact for me is that Clue was supposedly invented in a bomb shelter during WWII. That always throws me off. Or that Scrabble tiles were originally made from cardboard. That one feels cheap when you think about it.

And Clue's always felt like you're accusing people in a bomb shelter too, @kim.jake, which is just... weirdly fitting.

Did you know the original Monopoly had a secret second board under the main one? I had a buddy who worked at a thrift store and found this ancient copy with a hidden layer for a totally different game underneath. He said it was like a maze game with little wooden pieces, and nobody knew about it until they started peeling back the paper. Made me wonder if board game companies ever throw in Easter eggs like that on purpose.
