Pro tip: Keep the chips away from the game board unless you want a greasy mess

I hosted a game night and someone brought oily potato chips. Now my favorite board has permanent fingerprints all over it. Never letting that happen again.

Really, is it that big of a deal? Board games get worn out from use all the time. Those greasy marks probably just show it was a fun night. I doubt the board is ruined for good. A quick clean might fix it, or just accept it as part of the game's story.

Seriously, is there a difference between normal wear and permanent grease stains?

Spilled soda all over my Monopoly board once. Now every game night, someone mentions it. xena767 has a point, those stains just add to the fun memories.

On my old Scrabble board, some stains seemed set but faded after a while. Most grease marks wipe off with a damp cloth if you catch them early. It's not worth losing sleep over a few spots.
