Ran a 9-player game night and the table split in two halves

Organized a big game night in my basement last Saturday. Had 9 people show up. Pulled out a heavy euro game, thought it would work. Three players wanted nothing but bluffing games after round one. The other six liked the strategy. We split into two tables at 8 pm. Has anyone else seen a group fracture like that mid-session? How do you pick games for mixed crowds?

Friendships change shape when people pick sides, tables just make it visible.

Nine players, two tables, nobody's mad. That's a win.
