I was at a game night in Portland last week. A guy spent 20 minutes calculating the perfect move while everyone else just wanted to try weird strategies. Does your group optimize every turn or just roll with the chaos?

Mix of both honestly, the sweatlords who math out every roll just suck the energy out of the room. Watching someone try a dumb plan that might fail is way more memorable than a perfectly optimized win that nobody talks about later. Let the chaos breathe and you'll end up with better stories than any spreadsheet can give you.

Right? lmao I'm the worst offender with the dumb plans honestly. My last character tried to seduce a gelatinous cube and I rolled a nat 1, so now I'm canonically in love with a pile of acidic goo. The DM made it my characters tragic backstory and everything. Nobody remembers the time we perfectly calculated the damage output on a fireball, but everyone still quotes the time I tried to offer a dragon a coupon for 10% off on hoard insurance. I just wish my chaotic ideas would land more than once in a blue moon, you know?
