Stopped by the old game shop in Tacoma and the whole vibe is different now
I went in last weekend to grab a new deck box and saw they cleared out the big table in the back. It used to be packed every Friday night with people playing long games of Twilight Imperium. Now it's just a small cafe area with a couple of people on laptops. The owner said they had to change things up about six months ago to stay open. It just feels like a quiet coffee shop now, not the loud, messy hub it used to be. Anyone else seen their local game spot change like this?

My buddy's hardware store in Renton did something similar last year. They took out the workbench where guys used to fix lawnmowers and put in a fancy display for smart home gadgets. I mean, I get that places need to make money, but it feels like everything is getting smoothed out and turned into the same quiet, clean space. You lose those spots where people just hang out and do the messy, loud stuff together.

Ugh, that's the worst kind of change.

It really is. They fix things that aren't broken and ignore what actually needs work.
