The player who traded a win for a pun in our 2018 championship game

Honestly, I look back at our group's before and after shift in how we play. Back in 2018, my buddy Mark passed up a sure 12 point scoring move in Dominion because he wanted to lay down a dumb pun about 'silver smiths'. Now everyone in our Omaha crew treats every game like a tournament, even our casual Friday night stuff. Has anyone else noticed their group getting way too serious after one competitive moment?
