Tried two different board game storage methods last weekend

I compared stacking games flat vs standing them up like books. My friend Dave said standing them up ruins boxes. After 6 hours of reorganizing 40+ games I gotta say standing up is way better. Can pull out Ticket to Ride without toppling a whole column. Anyone else given up on flat stacking?

I used to be all in on flat stacking, thought it looked neater and was safer for the boxes. But last month I pulled out a game from the middle of a tall stack and spent ten minutes reorganizing the whole thing while my friends waited. That was it for me. Switched to standing them up and honestly I get why people do it now. Way easier to grab what you need without making a mess. I keep the really old boxes flat just to be safe, but for everything else vertical is the way to go.

Ever try just using small cardboard dividers inside the boxes? Keeps things from sliding around and you still get the easy access.
