Vent: I stopped explaining rules upfront and games actually flow now, but is that rude?
Tried teaching Nemesis to three friends by just dealing cards and explaining as we went, and we finished in 90 minutes instead of the usual 3 hour slog. Now one guy says I'm a bad teacher for not front-loading the rules. What do you all do?
Wait, so what exactly does "front-loading" even look like for a game like Nemesis where half the fun is the weird stuff that happens mid-game? Like is he asking you to stand there for 45 minutes listing every card and room tile before anyone touches a mini? Because I've been in those games and people zone out by minute 10, then still ask "wait what does this do" when it matters anyway. The 90 minute version where everyone learned by playing is just better teaching, period. Your friend probably just felt lost for a minute and decided that meant you did it wrong. Next time tell him he's welcome to run the 3 hour lecture version and see how many people show up lol.
