Warning: That $80 deluxe insert broke my game box in one week

I bought a fancy foamcore insert for Terraforming Mars thinking it would organize everything perfectly, but the fit was so tight it split the box seam on day 3. Now I'm down $80 and have a busted box that won't close all the way. Anyone else had a custom organizer ruin their game's packaging?

Used to think people were just careless with assembly, but after wedging a Folded Space insert into Brass Birmingham and hearing that dreaded crack, I'm fully on your side now.

Didn't somebody on Reddit say those foam inserts are hit or miss for box fit?

Miles said "hit or miss" but that's being generous. These inserts are a straight up gamble at this price point. Did you buy yours from one of those Etsy shops or a bigger company like Broken Token? Because I swear some of them don't even test the fit before shipping. This whole situation just makes me wonder why nobody bothers to measure the inside dimensions of the actual box before cutting foam.
