Wasted $60 on a deluxe insert for Terraforming Mars that didn't fit right

Bought that fancy wooden insert from Etsy because I was tired of baggies, but the card slots were too tight and I actually ripped a card trying to get it out. Has anyone else had luck just sticking with zip bags or found a better solution that won't ruin your game?

...yeah I used to be the same way, kept buying all these expensive aftermarket organizers thinking they'd be the answer to my game storage problems. But after a few bad experiences with ones that didn't fit right or actually damaged components I've totally changed my mind. I just use the original box insert if it's decent and supplement with a few small craft store organizers for tokens and cards. Works way better honestly, and I don't have to worry about tearing cards or spending a bunch of money on something that might not even work.

oh man @murphy.aaron you are SPEAKING my language now. i remember buying this super expensive wooden organizer for a game i loved and it literally didnt fit because the box was like 2mm too small. had to return it and pay shipping both ways, what a joke. now i just use baggies and some cheap plastic containers from the dollar store and honestly its been way better. plus when i want to trade a game away i dont feel bad about losing the custom insert i paid 40 bucks for. sometimes the most expensive solution isnt the best one, just the one someone convinced you that you NEEDED.

Oh man this hits way too close to home. I once spent like 50 bucks on a foam core insert for a game and then realized I had put it together upside down. Just sat there staring at it for ten minutes wondering why nothing fit. Ended up trashing it and now I use old mint tins and ziploc bags like a normal person. The best part is when your friend asks about your fancy storage and you just pull out a crumpled bag of tokens from a takeout container. Makes me feel like a real professional game organizer honestly. Still cheaper than therapy though so I'll take it.
