10 years of blowing out torch tips before I finally read the manual
I was at a job in Tulsa last month and my foreman walked over while I was swapping a tip for the fourth time that morning, he just sighed and pointed at the little cleaning kit sitting in my box. Turns out I was cranking the oxygen way too high and cooking the tip from the inside out, I never even knew you were supposed to adjust the pressure based on the metal thickness. Anybody else find out they've been doing some basic thing wrong for years just because nobody ever showed you the right way?

Manual? What manual?

David, that "manual" line got me thinking about something else entirely. What if the manual is actually a hidden commentary on how the whole system is designed to be forgotten or ignored from the start?
