Bought a $80 face shield last winter. Worst purchase I ever made for the trade.

Fogged up within 10 minutes on a boiler job and I couldn't see a thing. Tried every trick to fix it but nothing worked for the heat. Anybody here found a face shield that actually stays clear when you're welding near steam lines?

Man, that sounds brutal... did you try any of those anti-fog sprays or was it just hopeless in that heat?

Wiping them with a little dab of dish soap works better than any fancy spray I've tried.

My buddy tried all those fancy anti-fog sprays before a bike race and none of them worked worth a damn. He finally dabbed a little dish soap on his goggles and said it was the clearest ride he'd ever had. Guess sometimes the cheap stuff is the real winner, huh?
