Dropped $340 on a titanium spud wrench and it never once beat my old beater
Used it for 6 months on a tank job in Gary and the jaw slipped on the first stubborn bolt. Anybody else got a tool they regret buying, or is it just me?
My uncle bought a $180 brass hose nozzle from some garden shop in Vermont back in 2019. Thing weighed like two pounds and had a little leather tag on it. He used it twice, left it on the spigot over winter, and the thing cracked wide open. Meanwhile the $12 plastic one from the hardware store down the street has been going strong for probably 15 years now. He still brings it up every time we have a cookout. Sometimes fancy just means fancy packaging.
