I used to roll every tube by hand and I think the old way was actually worse
For 6 years I rolled every boiler tube by hand with a torque wrench and a guy on the other end watching, because the old hands at the shop in Gary told me motorized rollers would egg the tube ends. Last month we had 340 tubes to do on a waterwall job and I finally rented a pneumatic roller, and the tube gauge readings came out tighter than my hand work ever did. Am I crazy for thinking the motorized setup beats two guys and a hand wrench, or did I just get lucky on this one job?
