My sister's boy got too close to my angle grinder last week

I was cutting some plate steel in my backyard shed for a boiler patch job. My sister brought her son over to visit, and he wandered in while I was focused on the cut. The sparks were flying, and he came right up behind me. I heard a noise and turned off the grinder just as he was about to touch the disc. It was still spinning down. I had to sit him down and explain how hot and sharp everything was. Now I put a lock on the shed door when family comes over. If you work from home, think about who might walk in. A quick moment of distraction could lead to a bad accident.

My shed has more warning signs than a chemistry lab after my mishaps.

I read that most padlocks can be picked in under 30 seconds. That's why a solid hasp matters more than any sign.

Good call on the lock. Signs won't stop a curious kid, but a physical barrier will. It's just not worth the risk.
