Switched from oxy-acetylene to a plasma cutter on site last month

I used to drag tanks everywhere for structural work but finally got a Hypertherm 30 and holy crap the difference in speed is insane. Has anyone else made the jump and found it saves your back on long days?

Used one last week on a fire escape and the sparks almost set the neighbor's awning on fire.

Almost set the neighbor's awning on fire" - that's a good sign to maybe pick a different spot next time. I set my own pants on fire once with a torch. Wasn't even doing anything dangerous, just leaned wrong. Clean pants ruined.

How much of a difference did you notice in setup and breakdown time compared to dragging the tanks around? I have been thinking about switching for smaller jobs but I am worried about the cord management and finding a power source on older sites. Does the Hypertherm handle rusty material okay or do you have to clean it up more first?
