Had to pick between a bone folder and a Teflon folder for a big leather project

I was working on a full leather binding for a client's family history book, about 400 pages thick. My old bone folder was smooth but left faint marks on the dark calfskin. I grabbed a Teflon folder I'd bought on a whim last year, and it glided without a single scratch. The creases were just as sharp. Anyone have a favorite tool for delicate leather that won't mar the surface?

Ever try a polished agate burnisher? The rounded stone gives crazy smooth pressure without any drag marks on dark leather.

Honestly, @wade871 is spot on about the agate burnisher. I switched to one last year and it totally fixed my issue with scuffing on black belts. That smooth stone finish is a game changer for dark leather.

Betty_wells is right about that smooth finish. I used to get those light scuff lines on black leather watch straps all the time. Switched to a polished agate burnisher and it made a huge difference. The key is keeping the stone clean and using a tiny bit of water. Lets it glide without any drag that causes marks.

Yeah, that drag is brutal on black. Wetting the stone a tiny bit does the trick.
