Spent $45 on a used bone folder at a library sale and it changed how my covers lay flat
I found this old TALAS bone folder at a library liquidation sale last Saturday. It was all beat up and yellowed but man, it presses down so much smoother than my cheap plastic one. My spine creases are actually clean now. Has anyone else found tool upgrades at weird estate sales or library sales?

Oh, absolutely. A good bone folder is worth the hunt even if it takes years to find one. I picked up a battered but perfectly weighted one at an old print shop's closing sale a few years back, and it's still my favorite tool for bookbinding. You just can't beat the way an old, well-used one has been broken in by someone who knew what they were doing.

Old tools just carry the ghosts of all the hands that used them, @rubyk26.
