Vent: A customer at the bar called my hand-bound notebook 'too perfect'

He said it looked like a machine made it, which was meant as a compliment, but it made me realize I might be over-polishing my work. I'm going to try leaving a bit more character in the next one, maybe with a slightly uneven deckle edge. Has anyone else gotten this kind of feedback and adjusted their style?

I get what you mean about adding a flaw, but that feels fake to me. The real character comes from your own hands, not a planned mistake. If you like it polished, then own that style.

Ever try adding a tiny, intentional flaw to break that perfect look?

Makes it feel more human, honestly.
