Watch out for that new 'archival' glue from Craftwell

Honestly, I tried binding a set of 12 journals for a local library project and the adhesive just would not set right. It took me three full days of redoing signatures and cleaning pages to fix the mess. Has anyone found a good alternative for library-grade work that actually holds?

My third attempt with that stuff ended with a book block stuck to my favorite t-shirt. I switched to Lineco Neutral pH Adhesive for a recent repair job on some old yearbooks, and it held through the whole process without any seepage. The open time is way more forgiving, too. Why do they even call that other stuff archival?

Listen to sage308 and avoid that Craftwell mess. Their Lineco suggestion is solid because a real archival glue should not ruin your project or your clothes. Stick with proven brands that don't make you redo your work.

Lost a whole photo album to that garbage, never again.

Saw a whole thread on a scrapbook forum about Craftwell glue ruining photos.
