Botany club critique made me trash my propagation setup

A lady at the Seattle gardeners meetup told me my humidity domes were way too tight for cuttings. She said I was basically steaming them to death in there. Swapped to open trays with misting 3 times a day and my success rate jumped from 30% to near 80% in just 2 months. Anybody else get called out on something they thought was the right way?

I get what she was saying but I don't think humidity domes are automatically bad. I've been using the same tight dome setup for years and my success rate for ficus and philodendron cuttings is over 90 percent. The trick for me is not keeping the dome sealed tight all the time. I crack it open for a few hours every day and wipe off the condensation inside so the leaves don't sit in water. If you just set it and forget it yeah you'll cook them. But if you check on them daily and let some air in it works just fine.

@mason_lopez probably thinks his setup is bulletproof till he forgets to crack that dome one day.
