I hit 100 species on my plant tracker last Tuesday and I feel like a fraud
Half of them are pothos cuttings I rooted myself, so does that even count as a real collection? Anyone else keep a list like this, and where do you draw the line?
Wait, so if rooted cuttings count, does that mean every single node you chop counts too? Because I've got a monstera that I've chopped into like 8 pieces over the years and if each one gets a number on the list then my "collection" triples overnight. That feels like cheating to me. But then again, a plant you grew from a cutting IS your plant, you put the work in, you watched the roots come in. I'd say the line is more about whether YOU raised it versus whether you just bought it fully grown at a nursery. Two people can have the same pothos but one of them made it from scratch and that means something.
