Last spring I found a patch of wild trilliums blooming in my backyard and it made my whole week.
I had been trying to grow trilliums from bulbs for three years with zero luck, then one morning after a heavy rain there they were, three perfect white blooms right by the fence, and it reminded me why I love this hobby even when nothing seems to work.

lol I read somewhere that trilliums can actually stay dormant underground for years before they decide to pop up, kind of like they're waiting for the perfect conditions or something. Maybe that's why your bulbs never did anything but then suddenly showed up like that, nature is so weird lol. I love how they just show up when you least expect them too, makes the wait worth it every time. Three perfect white ones by the fence sounds like a total dream honestly.

Watered mine once and they came up the next spring like clockwork. Worked for me.

right there with you, nature has its own timing and it's wild how it just works out sometimes. three years is a long wait but that surprise payoff makes it all worth it. love that those perfect blooms finally showed up for you.
