My friend in Denver says talking to plants is silly, but I swear my ficus perked up after I started chatting with it last month.

Three years ago I moved to a new apartment and my ficus was always droopy, no matter the light or water. Last week I read an old study about sound vibrations and plant growth, so I started talking to it while watering. Do you think there's any real science behind it, or is it just a nice story for plant lovers?

Your friend in Denver clearly hasn't tried complaining to a cactus about their rent. Maybe the ficus just likes the gossip.

Know exactly how that feels. My spider plant heard all my complaints last year when my landlord raised the rent twice. Sometimes you just need to tell something green that won't talk back, you know? It's rough out there.

Honestly, I've found talking it out with a real person helps me more. Don't your plants just sit there?
