My grandmother's seed packets beat the nursery seedlings this spring
She passed about 4 years ago and I kept a shoebox of her saved seeds without really thinking about it. This March I planted her old zinnia and tomato seeds next to new ones from the garden center. Her stuff came up stronger and the tomatoes taste way better. I think it's because those seeds adapted to this exact soil over decades, while nursery stuff is grown for shipping. Has anyone else had luck with seeds from older generations or am I just getting lucky with the weather?
