My pothos in a north window put out 3 leaves in 6 weeks, and I'm still puzzled

I moved it there after reading that low light was fine, but the leaves came out tiny and pale green compared to the ones under my grow light. Has anyone had a plant do better in a spot the internet swears is bad for it?
