Shoutout to the retired guy at the community garden who showed me how to save tomato seeds
He was in plot 7 every morning at 6am and one day last August he handed me a brown paper bag with dried seeds from his heirloom plants. He told me to ferment them in water for three days before drying them on a coffee filter, which sounded dumb but worked perfectly. Has anyone else had a random neighbor teach them something simple that ended up being a game changer?

Does he give lessons in not killing every plant I touch? Because I've got a basil graveyard that could use his help.

That's awesome. It's funny how the best lessons always come from someone just doing their thing and being willing to share instead of some big tutorial or class.

Try watering from the bottom and only when the soil is bone dry, fixed my plant problems instantly.
