Watched my neighbor's Japanese maple go from sad to stunning in under a year

Honestly, the thing was a brown stick collection last spring after they planted it in pure clay and full sun. They moved it in October to a spot with morning light and afternoon shade, and mixed in a whole bag of composted pine bark. Now it's covered in these deep red leaves and looks amazing. Has anyone else saved a tree by just changing where it was planted?

Wait, they planted it in pure clay and full sun? That's basically a death sentence for a Japanese maple, no wonder it looked like a stick collection. I'm shocked it even survived long enough to be moved. It's a miracle they didn't just bake the roots.

My buddy had a weeping cherry that was just not happy at all. He finally moved it from his windy front yard to a sheltered corner by his patio. It's like a whole different tree now, totally covered in pink flowers this spring.

My hydrangea was getting scorched by afternoon sun for two years. I moved it to a spot with morning light only and it finally bloomed huge blue flowers. Sometimes the fix really is that simple.

Yeah, it's wild how much the right spot matters. Makes me wonder how many other things just need a small change to really thrive.
