DAE think hitting 10k followers was actually the worst thing for my art?
So I hit 10,000 followers on my pottery page last Thursday and everyone acted like I won the lottery, but honestly it's been weird. Before that I was posting maybe 3 times a week to like 800 people who actually cared about glazes and kiln stuff, and I had time to actually sit at the wheel for 4 or 5 hours a day. Now I feel this dumb pressure to post daily, film everything, answer like 40 DMs about pricing, and my actual studio time dropped to maybe 90 minutes if I'm lucky. Part of me thinks I should just mute the app for a month and let the number sit there, but another part is scared the algorithm will bury me and I'll lose the momentum I built. My partner says I'm being dramatic and that most people would kill for that number, and maybe she's right, but it doesn't feel like a win when I haven't finished a single new piece in 9 days. I'm torn between treating it like a job now or just going back to posting when I feel like it and letting whatever happens happen. Has anyone else hit a milestone that made their hobby feel worse instead of better, and what did you actually do about it?
