Spent $1,200 on a laser level from Bosch - total regret

My buddy kept saying how much easier layout would be with a green beam laser, so I finally caved and bought the Bosch GLL 3-80CG. Way too overpowered for my small bathroom and kitchen projects, I barely use half the features. The batteries die fast too even with their claimed 8 hour runtime. Anyone else overspend on a tool thinking it would fix all their problems?

Yeah but most guys way overbuy tools hoping it'll make the job easier.

You ever read that study about how having too many tools actually slows people down? I came across something in a home improvement magazine once that said most DIYers spend more time picking which tool to use than actually using it. Makes you wonder if they buy the fancy stuff just to feel prepared, even when a simple hand tool would do the trick.
