That $600 mattress topper I bought is paying off now that my back is older

I spent $600 on a latex mattress topper three years ago and thought I was crazy at the time. My old mattress was fine, just a little saggy in the middle. But after 6 months of sleeping on it, my morning back pain went away completely. Now I'm pushing 40 and my wife says I don't groan getting out of bed anymore. Has anyone else dropped serious cash on something that felt like a splurge but ended up being worth every penny?

Wait, does that mean your back is usually bad enough you have to call in sick for the relief? I remember one time my sciatica just vanished for a whole weekend, and I spent it all reorganizing my garage just to test if it was real. Back pain is crazy like that, it makes you grateful for the stupidest things.
