Frogging my own wall after 6 years to test a corner lead trick

I finally tried laying the corners three courses ahead with a string line pulled tight instead of my trusty level, and it cut my squaring time down by almost half on a 40-foot wall in Reno, so has anyone else switched to this method and stuck with it?

Dang, that string line trick is sneaky good but nobody's talking about the wind factor. Out in Reno, a 40 foot wall catches breeze like a sail, and if that line sags even a hair mid span you're chasing ghosts. I tried it once on a windy day and my corners were off by a solid quarter inch, had to redo the whole lead. Level might be slower but it doesn't lie when the gusts pick up. Maybe the trick only works on calm days or real short runs, not when the weather's got other plans.

Quarter inch off on a windy day sounds brutal. I've seen 20 footers move an eighth inch with a decent breeze, but 40 feet of wall is a whole different animal. String line is definitely a calm day tool, no argument there.
