My mixing paddle snapped clean in half on a job yesterday
I was mixing type S mortar for a chimney repair in Tulsa and the paddle just gave out mid-spin. Flew across the driveway and scared the homeowner's dog. Anybody had that happen with a cheap paddle from a big box store?

Did you ever find that dog to apologize? I had a similar thing happen with a cheap margin trowel once, but it was the handle that snapped. Flew right off the blade and went spinning into a bucket of water I had sitting nearby. Splashed water all over my boots and the customer's patio furniture. They thought it was hilarious but I was just standing there with a wet sock and a useless piece of metal in my hand.

Did you at least get a good video of the dog freaking out? I snapped a cheap Harbor Freight trowel handle once and it almost took out a window, felt like a real pro.
