Visited a job site in Portland and saw someone using a laser level wrong for a whole morning

Ngl I was watching this guy set up his laser for a retaining wall and he had it on the wrong mode for like 4 hours before someone pointed it out. He kept blaming the ground. Has anyone else seen a simple tool setup go totally sideways on a site?

Watching someone fight a laser level for four hours is painful but kind of funny too. Had a guy on one of my sites spend half the day trying to set up a rotary laser on a slope instead of just using a basic line laser for the footing layout. The battery died three times before he figured out his mistake. Sometimes you just gotta hand them the right tool and walk away before you say something you regret.

Wait, @avery219, didn't you used to swear by rotary lasers for everything? I gotta admit, I was the same way until I watched a guy burn through three packs of batteries on a simple slab pour. Seeing it happen in real time changed my mind real quick.
