Hit $50 on a single grocery run last week and it stopped me cold

I remember when $50 would fill a cart for two weeks, now it barely covers a few meals. Am I the only one who keeps getting sticker shock no matter how much I plan ahead?

Totally feel you on that. @murphy.mason has a point about shopping smart but even then the prices just keep climbing.

Are you actually keeping track of what you're buying though? I see people complain about prices all the time but they're tossing in name brand stuff and organic produce like money grows on trees. lol. A $50 trip should still get you rice, beans, some frozen veggies, and maybe chicken thighs if you shop smart at Aldi or something. I meal prepped last week for under $30 and ate like a king. Maybe the real sticker shock is from people buying convenience food and wondering why it adds up.

@murphy.mason yeah you're right about convenience food adding up. I started doing the same thing last year with basic ingredients and a cheap rice cooker. Saved enough to actually eat decent without feeling like I'm bleeding cash every trip.
