Old lady in line at Aldi told me to stop buying pre-shredded cheese
She said it costs twice as much and has sawdust in it, so I bought a block and a grater for $4 and now my tacos actually melt right, anyone else ditch the bagged stuff?

My sister swore by bagged cheese for years and I used to think she was right, but then I tried a block of cheddar from Trader Joe's and honestly it's a whole different ballgame. The pre-shredded stuff just doesn't melt the same.

Oh man, you're totally right! Pre-shredded cheese has that anti-clumping coating that messes with the melt. Once you shred your own, there's no going back, it's night and day.

I mean, I get what you're saying, but honestly I'm team bagged cheese all the way. The convenience factor is just too good to give up, especially when I'm making a quick quesadilla or something at 10pm. Sure it doesn't melt as smooth, but it's still fine for like 90% of the stuff I make.
