Standing in the frozen aisle for 10 minutes debating cheap pizza vs. frozen lasagna

Last Tuesday I had $12 to my name and faced the big choice at my local Kroger in Nashville. Went with the $4.99 store brand lasagna over a $5.50 frozen pizza because I figured it had more servings. Three days later I'm still eating the leftovers and honestly it was a solid win for my wallet. Anyone else have a weird frozen aisle debate that turned out okay?

Did you heat up the lasagna in the oven or just microwave it? I swear oven makes it way better even if it takes longer. The store brand ones usually slap for the price, I grab them all the time when I'm broke. Glad it worked out for you.

Read somewhere that microwaving frozen lasagna actually messes with the texture more than people realize, makes the noodles rubbery. Oven lets everything melt together the way it should, even if it takes twice as long. Definitely worth the extra wait when you're trying to make a cheap meal feel like actual dinner.

Hold on now @joel_clark37, I gotta disagree. Microwaves are way more convenient for frozen lasagna and honestly the difference ain't that huge once you let it sit a minute after.

Did you heat up the lasagna in the oven or just microwave it?" - man, it's frozen lasagna, are we really acting like there's some high art to reheating it? I mean yeah oven tastes a little better but it's not like you're plating it at a Michelin star restaurant. Slap it on a plate, nuke it for a few minutes, you're good.
