The $2.50 bag of frozen veggies that changed my meal math

I was doing my weekly grocery list last Sunday and decided to actually add up what I spend per meal. Found out that a 1 lb bag of frozen mixed veggies at Aldi is about $2.50 and makes 4 side portions. That's like 63 cents a serving vs the fresh stuff I was buying for $1.50 a bag that went bad in 3 days. I never realized how much I was throwing away, probably $12 a month just on spoiled greens. Has anyone else crunched numbers like this and found frozen beats fresh for their budget? Trying to figure out what other stuff I should switch over.

The "went bad in 3 days" part hit home. My buddy Dave was the worst with fresh greens. He'd buy those big spinach tubs every week, use maybe two handfuls for a smoothie, then watch the rest turn into slime. One time he pulled out a bag of salad mix that was basically liquid, said he was "composting" it but really he just didn't want to admit he wasted another $4. I told him about frozen peas and corn for his stir fry, he thought it was gross at first. Now he keeps a bag of frozen broccoli in his freezer at all times. He still buys fresh lettuce but only for his work lunches, and he plans it so he uses the whole head by Friday. It's funny how one math problem can change your whole kitchen routine.
