Walked into a bulk store near me and got angry at the prices
Went to WinCo in Phoenix yesterday. Saw a 5 lb bag of rice for $8.49. That's almost double what it was two years ago. How are we supposed to make budget meals when the cheap staples aren't cheap anymore? Anyone else seeing ridiculous prices on basic stuff like beans or flour at your local store?

Are you shopping at the regular WinCo or the one on the fancy side of town? I go to the one near Glendale and the 5 lb bag of rice is still $5.29 by me... maybe check the label for the store brand instead of the name brand. Flour's been steady around $2.50 for a 5 lb bag at my store, same as last year. Feels like prices are hit or miss depending on which location you hit up.

Hold up, flour's still $2.50 for a 5 lb bag near you? That's like a whole dollar less than the cheapest I've seen around here in months... I swear the bakery flour at my WinCo jumped to $3.80 back in spring and never came down. Maybe I really do need to start driving over to that Glendale location instead.

Totally feel you @miller.rowan. Gotta check the store brand every time at WinCo. That's where the real deals are. Location matters too, the one by the college always has cheaper bulk stuff.
