Honestly, my Barcelona hostel bill went from $40 to $65 a night in two years.
Tbh, it's because I kept booking last minute. Now I set a calendar alert for 8 weeks out and check the same places. Anyone have a better system for finding those cheap beds before they're gone?

My buddy got burned in Lisbon last summer. He found a trick where he books a free cancellation rate way early, then just checks back every few days to see if a cheaper non-refundable one pops up.

Two hundred bucks for a hotel breakfast? I mean, that stings but you'll live. People act like missing a price drop is the end of the world when you're just talking about breakfast money. Setting reminders and checking every few days sounds like a part time job just to save fifty bucks on a room. How much time are you really spending to nickel and dime a vacation?
