Hostels vs Airbnbs - which actually saves more for a week in Barcelona?
Two years ago I did a week in Barcelona staying at a hostel for about $35 a night, and last month I went back and rented a private room in an Airbnb for $60 a night. The hostel was cheaper on paper, but I ended up spending way more on eating out because the kitchen was always crowded and the shared fridge was a mess. The Airbnb had a proper kitchen so I cooked breakfast and dinner most days, cutting my food costs down to like $20 total for the week. What do you think - does paying more upfront for a private space with a kitchen actually save you money in the long run?

I mean, is it really that deep though... you saved like 100 bucks on food but paid almost double for the room, so it probably evens out in the end. Plus you're in Barcelona, half the fun is trying the tapas and stuff, don't see why you'd wanna cook every night. Feels like people overthink these things honestly.
