Met a guy in a hostel in Prague who taught me how to haggle at markets

I was buying souvenirs at a stall and this random traveler just stepped in and started negotiating in broken Czech. He got the vendor down from 500 crowns to 250 for a handmade thing I wanted. Has anyone else gotten help from strangers like that while traveling?
