TIL you can haggle at the airport food court if you're bold enough
I was stuck in the Denver airport for 5 hours last month with a $5 budget and a serious craving for a burrito. I asked the guy at the counter if they had a broken burrito discount and he actually gave me a half-priced one that was just a little squished! Has anyone else tried negotiating for airport food and actually gotten a deal?

My buddy tried this at the Atlanta airport, he was late for his flight and just wanted a quick sandwich. He straight up told the cashier he only had $4 and the sandwich was $9, and the guy just shrugged and said "call it $5." We joke that he probably gets away with it everywhere now because he's got that face that people feel bad for. Have you ever seen anyone actually get shut down trying this?

Oh yeah, I saw a guy try that at a deli once and the cashier deadpan said "price is the price" and walked away.

Harsh truth for @diana617 - I've actually seen a cashier at a local diner totally shut a guy down for this exact thing. The guy tried to haggle on a $8 breakfast plate with only $5 and the cashier just stared at him and said "the price is $8, not $5." The dude stood there for a solid minute looking super awkward and finally pulled out a card. I mean, it really depends on the worker and their mood that day. Maybe it works sometimes because people feel bad, but it's not a sure thing like some people think. Honestly, most workers don't get paid enough to care either way, so it's a total gamble.
