Vent: that $9 airport lounge day pass in Bangkok was a total scam
I paid for it at Suvarnabhumi last month and the 'snacks' were just stale crackers and watery coffee, so has anyone else found a legit cheap way to kill 4 hour layovers without dropping cash on overpriced food?}

That 2 dollar pad thai trick plus grabbing a bench near gate D5 has saved my wallet and sanity more times than I can count.

Check the small print next time, most of those passes don't include the full lounge buffet, just the bar area. I made the same mistake at Suvarnabhumi a few years back, the real food is only for folks with business class tickets or certain credit cards. Best cheap move I found is hitting the food court on the ground floor before security, get a proper pad thai for like 2 bucks and then find a quiet gate upstairs to nap at.
